Two agreements, and people mix them up. The software is yours to run forever under the licence. These terms cover the hosted service and the apps that point at it.

Two different agreements
The Dialout software — the server, the agent and the mobile apps — is released under the MIT licence. You may run it, fork it, modify it and deploy it commercially, forever, and nothing on this page can take that away. If you self-host, the licence is the whole agreement and you can stop reading here.
These terms cover the hosted service at www.dialout.dev, operated by IndiaNIC Infotech Ltd, and the account you use to reach it from a browser or from the iOS and Android apps.
Your account
You need to be 16 or older, or the age of digital consent where you live, whichever is higher. One human per account — sharing a login defeats every audit trail in the product and is the fastest way to lose access you cannot explain.
Two-factor authentication is mandatory and cannot be turned off. Keep your backup codes. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything an agent you installed does on a machine you connected.
Your content stays yours
Your projects, notes, credentials, terminal output and AI transcripts belong to you. We claim no licence over any of it beyond the narrow, boring permission needed to actually run the service — storing it, transmitting it between your machine and your browser, backing it up.
We do not read it, mine it, or train anything on it. Support staff access your data only if you ask us to look at something specific, and only for as long as that takes.
What you may not use it for
Dialout gives you a remote terminal and an HTTP tunnel into machines. Use both only on machines you own or are authorised to administer. Specifically, do not use the service to reach a machine without permission, to expose a service you have no right to expose, to host malware or phishing through the tunnel, to attack anyone, or to break the law where you or the machine is.
Do not attempt to gain access to another account, and do not resell the hosted service as your own. If you want to run it for other people, self-host it — the licence already lets you, at no cost.
We may suspend an account that is doing one of these things, and we will tell you why.
Availability, and what we do not promise
The hosted service is provided as is, without an uptime commitment. We deploy on merge, which means we deploy often, and a deploy restarts the processes that hold agent connections. Agents reconnect on their own; tmux sessions survive it.
A written response time is something we sell separately, under an enterprise agreement. Nothing here creates one.
Ending it
You can stop at any time, and you can have the account and everything in it deleted within seven days by asking — no sign-in required, because sign-in needs an authenticator code you may no longer have.
We may close an account for a serious or repeated breach of the section above, or after a long period of inactivity with notice to your email address first. If we shut the hosted service down entirely, you get at least 30 days’ notice and an export — and the software is MIT, so you can stand your own instance up and keep going.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the hosted service is provided without warranties of any kind, and IndiaNIC Infotech Ltd is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost data or business interruption. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
The App Store and Google Play
Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement and have no obligation to support the app. This agreement is between you and IndiaNIC Infotech Ltd alone. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of it and may enforce it against you.
The iOS app is licensed, not sold, on the terms of Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, and you must also comply with the App Store Terms of Service or the Google Play Terms of Service as applicable. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo, and are not on any US Government prohibited-party list.
Law, changes, and getting hold of us
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring a claim in your own country of residence under its mandatory local law.
We will email account holders before a material change takes effect, not after. Continuing to use the service after that date is acceptance. The effective date at the top of this page is the one that governs.
